As mentioned in my last post, my usual schedule has been thrown off by what is, for here, a massive amount of snow. As such, this is a very short edition of Ponyfic Roundup – and one which doesn't actually include either of the fic reviews I trailed last week. This also means that my review of iisaw's The Skyla Pseudonym will have to wait until January. For all of this, my apologies. Oh well, here we go with the whole two reviews that I have got for you:

You Forgot Your Toothbrush! by FamousLastWords
Starlight Glimmer, Twilight and Spike
Slice of Life; 5k words; Jun 2017; Everyone
Starlight's toothbrush looks suspiciously like Spike the Dragon. This is why.
This is the toothbrush seen briefly in "A Royal Problem". It's a fairly simple, straightforward SoL story that explains why that brush looks the way it does. A story that will most please those who like very slicey slice-of-life, as not much actually happens. If you do, it's a pleasant quick read about Starlight's early post-reformation days and it also gives Spike something to do. A high two, stopped from being a three simply because it's just... there. One or two little revelations, jokes, etc might have pushed it over the line into the next category. ★★

Corn on the Cob by mushrumluver
Cadance
Random; 1k words; Jun 2012; Everyone
Cadence and a Corn on the Cob
Inspired by this once-popular short animation, this fic is one of those (also once-popular) stories that stretch out a single action to over a thousand words. The everyday life of Canterlot continues in the background as Cadence [sic] eats her corn. These stories can be quite funny, but this one doesn't really have enough spark to the writing to make it entertaining. As such, it's rather dull and feels longer than it actually is. ★

Next time on Ponyfic Roundup: stories reviewed will actually include theworstwriter's When You Fall and The Descendant's Dear Idiot. I hope.
